India’s No.1 Mobile Operator with respect to no of subscribers Bharti Airtel has said that it will acquire 100 percent stake in Telecom Seychelles for Rs 289 crore [$62 million approx]
Bharti Airtel CEO and Managing Director Manoj Kohli said.
“The Board of Directors has approved the acquisition deal today morning”
“We are delighted at the addition of Seychelles to our Africa portfolio. Telecom Seychelles has world-class operations that include state-of-the art 3G services. These operations will benefit further by leveraging the efficiencies of scale of our African operations”
Telecom Seychelles Launched mobile services in 1998 by and currently also has 3G mobile
With this, Airtel will now be present in over 16 countries
