Now almost every private telcos are being keen to show their 3G service to grab more tech-savvy as well as high-end customer. Till now 3G service is too costly as it was also guessed by some telecom experts. High spectrum price and 3G deployment cost is pushing operators to make this service comparatively premium to general users.
However, we have tried to make a short review of Reliance 3G for our readers. Before proceed I should have mention that through out the process I have got pretty good 3G coverage In my area, in Kolkata(North). So speed may vary from place to place.
I did this speed test at my room. So be frank no idea about out door coverage through out the city. But as per I heard from my couple of friends Reliance 3G coverage is not so great at least in these initial days.
- SPEED TEST
In these initial days 3G service is very costly for normal users. So u can expect a congestion free network. So through the test I have enjoyed a superb speed. All the process have done with a Huawei 3.6 Mbps modem. So in their 21Mbps(as they demand in electronic media) u can expect a much higher download speed if your modem/3G mobile with pc connectivity is with capable of 7.2 or higher download speed.
Generally it took average 20 seconds to download a 5Mb mp3 file. And so on in kind of larger size file. I have averagely 250-350 kbps download speed in my 3.6 Mbps modem. And its true that fluctuate of download speed form 350kbps to 250kbps happened frequently.
These below pictures are taken as the part of this test:
And in case of torrent I have got average 150-250 download speed in a decently seeded torrents.
At below there is an image of ping test result also:
According to me if you are seeking of 3G and if you are genuinely not interested in BSNL 3G then you may opt for this only. Before opting for Reliance 3G in Kolkata make sure 3G coverage is available in your area as it is in initial stage and may be its 3G signal not up-to mark in your area. If there is no problem of getting coverage then its fine or otherwise its really NOT VERY PROMISING.
