Nokia to get $1 billion from microsoft

If Bloomberg’s sources are to be believed then Microsoft will be paying Nokia more than $1 billion or atleast something around that figure for promoting and developing its Windows based handsets as part of their smartphone software agreement

While Nokia may also be paying Microsoft certain amount of fee for using microsoft’s windows mobile operating system in its devicesColin Gillis, an analyst at BGC Partners in New York said

“This gives Microsoft scale and allows Nokia to rip out costs,”
“Microsoft is getting the platform boost that comes from acquiring a Nokia for about a billion dollars.”

Peter Klein, Microsoft’s chief financial officer, has said before

“In success, it is a very mutually beneficial deal economically for both companies”

According to some, the final contract is yet to be signed and more details are expected after it is signed
